Dr. Lois Lee is the founder and president of the Children of the night, a nonprofit organization started in 1979 to serve abused and neglected children. Dr. Lee used his origins as a scientist and an expert on social policy to protect and advocate for the voiceless children. The organization offers 24-hour telephone line that receives 10,000 calls per year and consists of employees who are trained to communicate with the police, rescue children and prepare children to testify in court.


Tags: In 1981 he opened his first walk-in crisis center for children in Hollywood, which became a model for other national and international programs to help street children. In 1992, Children’s House opened the night with a capacity for 24 people to provide housing, education, case management and recreational trips to the educational environment.
