House Impeaches Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez, 210-47-4 Vote
March 22, 2011, The Philippine Congress just voted 210-47-4 on the impeachment of Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez.
Instructions
1
One-third vote is needed in the house of representatives.
2
If the vote passes this becomes the articles of impeachment. The house will appoint prosecutors for the trial of the impeached official in the senate.
3
Upon conviction, the official will be removed from office.
4
Criminal charges may be filed.
5
Impeachable officials. President of the Philippines, Vice-President of the Philippines, Justices of the Supreme Court of the Philippines, Members of the Constitutional Commissions, Commission on Elections, Civil Service Commission, Commission on Audit, and The Ombudsman.
