CARE Foundation helps to create a miracle: family reunification, for young American children living in Ivory Coast for the past 8 years

New York (PRWeb) January 18, 2012

tags, has been 8 years since Eugene Poth’s son saw his last ten years already, when the child was removed from the Newark airport for what was originally planned as a visit of several months, the child could see his mother’s family living in Côte d’Ivoire. As it turned out brief visit family attempt was made too long, frustrating and almost impossible for Mr. Poth to join his son, as the relationship between the child’s parents ended. On Tuesday afternoon at the John F. Kennedy Airport, Mr. Poth did something that seemed about all these years, but was unable to do: to love his son to his hands on American soil

Tags: The accusations that his child was mistakenly arrested in Ivory Coast, Mr. Poth sought help from both the New Jersey Superior Court and the Department of State Office for Children Affairs, which oversees the requirements of international child abduction under the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction, but. Poth had little legal recourse. Unfortunately, Cote d’Ivoire, is a member of the Hague Convention, which limited its ability to seek protection under international law to help him to join his son. In addition, the child was not in New Jersey for 6 months, the New Jersey state court has no jurisdiction over the child (New Jersey Superior Court File Number: FD-0700483-7). To add to the difficulties of Mr. Poth was the fact that Ivory Coast is a constant and sometimes dangerous political situation, which made it dangerous for him if he tried to travel to the country in an effort to make their children at home. In essence, Mr. Poth was little hope of seeing his son, despite requests for legal assistance to New Jersey courts and two United States Department of State – who actively follow the fate of Mr. Poth, but due to the Ivory Coast is not a member of the Hague Convention, had a limited ability assist in returning the child.

Tags Today, Mr. Poth anxiety is over. His son’s home, and a sense of peace was established between the parents, because I Care Foundation, and with the help of Mr. Joel Walter, Mr. Peter Thomas Senese, Mrs. Patricia Lee and Dr. Alex Gimo child.

Tags acting in the best interests of the child, and understanding of the challenges faced by the child’s mother, CARE Foundation directors sit on both sides hope that the creation of joint parenting plan, which included the return of the child in the United United, while creating a peaceful partnership that will enable parents, the child to return to America, where he sees for the first time, his 6-year-old sister.

Tags: CARE Foundation Director and author of the critically acclaimed “Chasing the Cyclone,” Peter Thomas Senese said: “Today was a great day for small children, I can not say enough wonderful things about Eugene and the fact that despite the difficulties. That face, that never stopped try to make his son in his life. But this day would not be possible were it not for the excellent work of the child’s mother, Judith, who also had not seen her child for many years. What we see today is that parents want to their children come to the conclusion that they were willing to put their differences behind them for the good of their children’s interests. And so, the court ordered agreement that both parties freely entered into before the New Jersey Superior Court, and not one but two beautiful children will not only have their parents in their lives, but brother and sister share their lives will eventually reunited. I’m so happy for all concerned, and I am deeply grateful aunt children, Ginette, who was willing to travel the Ivory Coast in the United States with young children, and his return to loving arms of his father and his mother. “

Tags: New York-based lawyer, Joel Walter, Director of Care Foundation and a member of the department, “Attorney Network Hague Convention” State adds: “I am very pleased that the son of Eugene and Judith will be able to take a deep love to his parents. Today, a few hours, while participation in the long-awaited family reunion, I saw with my own eyes that the love the father and mother to their children.’m looking forward to both parents, but in fact I’m happy for his son and daughter, who eventually met in the evening hours. On a personal level I am very glad that a lot of time, resources and effort I Care Foundation raised to help this family to come to a peaceful solution, and reunited with their children makes all the effort that we put on it is worth it. When Peter Thomas Senese strongly suggested that Care Foundation seeks to help this family, it became clear to us all that we needed help. And so, the Foundation’s efforts to help Eugene and Judith, including direct assistance to directors and my colleagues Dr. Alex Lee, Patricia Gimo. Today was a great day and I am very grateful that I could help this family. I am also glad that by sharing the efforts of the Foundation, and Peter Thomas Senese and Patricia Lee and I now have a third child, this week, we were able to meet with his family. And just as it is very satisfying that the sober, to know how the wider problem of international child abduction, in fact. “

Tags Parental Child Abduction International is a growing problem in the United States and elsewhere. According to statistics listed in the “world upside down,” wrote Peter Senese and Carolyn Thomas Wolf, a contemporary of International Child Abduction forecast for the next 10 years, including the planned “reported” and “not reported” kidnapping is expected to reach more than 100,000 children. Currently, a parent who has focused on international child kidnapped by the other parent from the United States is solely responsible for all costs associated with their legal efforts to reclaim her child.
